About Kake

I THOUGHT I was baking kakes to make cake to pay for med school...
With dreams of being a doctor and no means to pay for it, I had to use what I had: my oven. Poetik Kakes was born in my small apartment in Indianapolis, In. Growing up in a close-knit family, I was always with my grandpa Joe Rowe. He is the person taught me how to bake. After he passed away in 2004, baking and poetry kept his spirit close. So I taught myself how to decorate. I moved to South Carolina in 2012, not knowing if and when I would bake again. I tried for 18 months to get back into school. Between filing for residency or classes being filled, it just wasn't working. One night, I gave the entire situation - school, baking, all of it - to God. The plans I had for my life were not working, and I needed Him to intercede. For in Jeremiah 29:11 He said, "For I know that plans I have for you, to prosper you and not to harm you..." Since that night, God has been making a way and fulfilling my dreams because I've committed to His will for my life. My kakes reflect who I am: Full of life, love and amazement. I never dreamed of being rich. I dreamed about changing the world. So here we are today... Poetik right?!
